Jharkhand e-Shiksha Block level ICT championship showcases digital talent among school students

Ranchi, Nov 7 (UNI) The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC), Ranchi, under the School Education and Literacy Department, has launched the ICT Championship Jharkhand e-Shiksha Mahotsav, aimed at enhancing digital proficiency among students of Classes IX to XII in high and higher secondary schools across the state.
Following the successful completion of the school-level competition in September, the event has now moved to the block level, where 17,367 students from 2,444 schools are showcasing their digital skills and creativity through various ICT-based challenges. The block-level competitions will conclude on November 8.
Meanwhile, this year’s championship has witnessed remarkable participation and leadership from girls, who have outperformed boys in several blocks across the state. Out of the total participants, 9,649 are girls and 7,718 are boys, reflecting a promising trend of increasing female participation in digital education and technology.
Officials from JEPC highlighted that Giridih district has recorded the highest participation, with 190 schools and 1,476 students competing at the block level. The winners from each block will advance to the district-level competition, where they will receive certificates, medals, and prizes for their excellence and innovation in ICT learning.
A JEPC spokesperson said, “The ICT Championship is not just a competition but a platform to build confidence and digital fluency among students. It is encouraging to see young girls leading the way in technology, which reflects the positive change happening in state''s education system.”
