Beirut, Aug 13 (Sputnik/UNI) Kuwait's State Security Service prevented a terrorist attack on one of the country's vital facilities and detained a member of the Islamic State terrorist group ISIS, the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry said.
"The Interior Ministry’s security forces, represented by the State Security Service, were able to thwart a terrorist plot targeting one of the country's vital facilities and detain a member of the ISIS terrorist organization before he could carry out his plan," the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the detainee had received training in the manufacture of explosives and unmanned aerial vehicles. He also manufactured a drone, which he intended to use in the attack.
The necessary legal measures have been taken against the suspect, and he has been handed over to the competent authorities for further investigation, the statement read.
